Is there a place on this site that hosts pictures, or do I have to use photobucket or some such?

Ok, lets see if I get this right.
This is a (not so good) picture of my internally suppressed .308 Mauser.

OK, just checked the FAQ and I need to use another picture host site. Lets try this again

Image

There we go. That is my (legal on a Form1) suppressed .308 Mauser. This project is now over two years in the making. I am almost finished with the stock for it (pictured is the military stock I cut down just to be able to test shoot it) and have refinished the metal in gun coat flat black. It is a very fun rifle, although too heavy.

Let's see if I can embed a video clip. . .

Cool, that seemed to have worked. This was my first time shooting the Mauser. The rounds are handloaded to be sub-sonic. For a good sound referenc listen to the click just before the 4th shot. That is the sound of the safety going off. On a side note. I had it out at the range a few weeks ago and the gents about 6 tables down thought I had "some kinda fancy air rifle" I was shooting. They each had a turn at the Mauser and I got to explain to a couple of folks about how NFA items are perfectly legal and how to go about getting them. I always take time to share the truth with people willing to listen.

Thanks. Be warned about suppressors, they can be very addictive.

Say, I did a series of threads on another board about bulding this suppressor, do you think there would be interest in me reposting it over here?

I have a splitting headache and I'm not known to be a morning person. That is Jeff's department. All things that happen before 9 AM. So please don't make me say "please" twice. We all want to know about the suppressor! Tell us and show us more! Please.
