As some of you may know, firearms are not sold with much mark up. Firearms retail is not the business you want to start if you plan to get rich. However, there are ways to increase your buying power with the firearm manufacturers. The best way is to sign agreements with the manufacturers themselves so you can buy direct and not have to purchase from a distributor. Its the old "cutting out the middle man" plan. Well, that is what we are going to try and do. Our first opportunity is with Sig Sauer. To get our initial "Direct Dealer" status, we have to buy a minimum of 5 guns from Sig. That isn't a huge investment, but it can tie up a fair amount of money if you don't buy the Sigs that are in demand. We are still trying to sell the S&W M&P in 40 S&W, for example.

So, we are offering to sell Sigs at just $25 over cost plus the shipping cost to get the gun to your FFL. If we can pre-sale these guns, we will be able to secure dealer direct status quickly and pass more savings on to our customers. If this is successful with Sig Sauer, we will make the same offer for Smith & Wesson, HK and other manufacturers.

If you have been thinking of buying a Sig Sauer pistol or rifle, this is a chance to get one for the least amount of money. Please email me if you are interested in participating in this group buy. I can give you the final price you would have to pay once you tell me what model you are interested in. If you know of any Sig Sauer fans, please pass the word on to them.

For everyone who is interested, here is a quick update on the Sig Sauer program. After a couple of bumps in the process, we are now Direct Dealers for Sig. Three of the initial 6 guns we ordered shipped on Wednesday. I expected them to get here no later than Friday, but I suppose the holiday shipping rush slowed the package down. I want to thank everyone who partcipated in the initial purchase that allowed us to get our Direct Dealer status without having to guess at what guns to buy and then inflate our inventory just before the end of the year.

Now, we are the top of the list for any of Sigs guns. I've been trying to get a 556 rifle since the first day it was introduced. I finally saw one at a local gun shop last month. Now, when we order something like this for a customer we will get just as fast as they can build one. We not only get better pricing, we now get much better access to the guns that Sig only make in small numbers or go to the distributors and then on to those dealers who buy large quantities of guns from that distributor.

You will notice that we have added several guns to the www.shop.livetoshoot.com on-line store. Please note that Sig strongly enforces the Minimum Advertised Pricing, MAP, program. This means we can't ADVERTISE lower pricing. However, we can sell the guns for whatever we wish. Keep this in mind when you are surfing the store. A quick email to Jeff or I will get you the pricing we offer to our forum members. Don't forget, we try to treat our Founding Members with extra special care. Also, don't forget that we love to trade. We will consider any gun that you have for trade. In general, we use the Blue Book and the selling history from the on-line auction sites to determine the value of your trades.

If anyone has suggestions for items that we should be carrying in the on-line store, don't be shy. Send me or Jeff and email with your suggestions. This business is starting to grow by leaps and bounds. Our certified select grade AR15 program is working well and I'm having trouble keeping up with the demand. That's very good news. However, we won't allow ourselves to forget the good people who helped us get this started and continue to visit the Forum, Blog, and on-line store. Many of our Founding members have helped by offering suggestions and by purchasing their guns through us. We really appreciate the customer loyalty and we hope we are returning the gratitude.

Thanks again for the support.

Tim,

I'm glad to here things are going so well, when I think of guns I think of "Live to Shoot" first. You and Jeff have a real hands on approach, old school the way it should be :) .

Keep up the good work
David

Man oh man! What an absolute bummer! I just got on this site and find of - all things - a Sig dealer. Doesn't that just curdle your milk. And after I JUST bought a Sig P220 and a week later a Sig Mosquito and a week later an extra clip for each. Man is my timing great or WHAT???????

The driver of this vehicle never carries more than $20 - of .45 ACP!
