And my Mosquito is beginning to annoy me. It "was" new as is the extra mag I bought for it. I have been taking my three grandsons to the shooting range and it seems that about every third or fourth round from either mag, it will not eject the spent cartridge and try to load another - big jam for a nine year old anyway. I am using 36 gr. HP Remington ammo and have not tried anything else yet. I have run about 200 rds through it so far, and YES I oiled the mag springs a lot and have taken the Mosquito apart every time after shooting and clean and oil it to death. I have noticed that about every other time a mag runs out of ammo, the slide does NOT stay back. I'm really getting ready to turn this thing into a boat anchor and go back to my very old Colt "Official Police" six shot revolver (circa 1914) - at least it doesn't complain or foul up no matter what ammo I use . My P220 is flawless so far and they are both the same age. Any ideas? The operator of this vehicle never carries more than $20 - worth of .45 ACP!

i would try some diff ammo.
i dont have one, but i know alot of 22lr pistol can get very ammo finicky, so it sounds like the sig prob isint an exception to that.

I agree, .22 pistols you will find are generally picky with ammo if you were using hollow points try round nose switch around until it is fine and if it continues to give you trouble then the feed ramp may need to be checked out on the gun. and I'm sure Sig would help on that.

Update on the Mosquito bites thing. A couple of weeks ago my son took it to the range and tried the CCI MiniMag ammo and he said it did somewhat better. He gets home to clean it and the screw that holds the lever near the front to remove the slide had broken off and he physically just pulled the lever straight out of the gun with no effort - sweet. Off to Sig it goes and they did the repair and I got it back in a few days. They ALSO polished the extractors and loading ramp, and adjusted the trigger (didn't say exactly what adjusting the trigger meant) and I have again taken it to the range and shot another 100 rounds of the CCI. The trigger on DA now feels like I need help from a Gorilla to pull it and on SA it goes off if you breath on it. The slid does not open and lock when the last bullet is fired either. But at least it doesn't jam after four rounds - now it is about every 7th or 8th round that jams (last round fails to extract - new round trying to take its place). Oh yeah, I almost forgot, I now can't lay it down on its side with the slide open and locked back because if you do and the slide lock lever touches anything - it closes the slide real quick. And all this was going on while I had to stand there in the lane next to a guy shooting an old 1964 High Standard semi auto 22 and watched as he shot over 200 rounds of three different brands of CHEAP 22 ammo without one problem of any kind - NONE. And what is so strange, my P220 45ACP, P250 9mm, and Bersa Mini 45 Firestorm shoot flawlessly - every shot. Does anyone need a boat anchor piece of crap??

my first thought, did you try the "real cheap" ammo??, that may have been what yuo needed from the beginning.
that said...i wouldnt stand for that. that is unacceptable. they should either fix it RIGHT or give you a refund. period.

I agree I would contact them about the slide lock and get them to take care of it and let them know you should at least get a free magazine for it beens this will be the second time you had to send it to them. Most companies will takew care of there people. if not let us know here and I will start to boycott their products and spread the word until they get it right. Only if you have the need for the back up! keep us posted!

Latest up-date on Mosquito bites. I sent the boat anchor back to Sig again and they kept it for nearly four weeks. When I got it back this time, the D/A trigger pull is now measured at 3.5 lbs and the single action trigger pull is 2 lbs. The slide spring is definitely stronger and when I push the mag release button, it literally pops out the mag. Sort of reminds me of how my Hammerli feels and acts. I can even run Federal ammo through it now with out a hitch as well as the CCI. Wish I didn't have to go through all this hassle to get a pistol that I can trust. All my previous or present Sig's (P220, P250, P239, Mosquito) and ALL my previous or present Bersa's (Firestorm Compact 45, 380 7+1, 380 PLUS, Firestorm 9mm Pro) have never given me a moments problem no matter what ammo I have used in any of them. This Mosquito has been a pain in the a** and I still do not really trust it.

Well, it has been a while but to update the report on the annoying Sig Mosquito - I guess whatever Sig did the last time worked because I haven't had another glitch out of it. I have "borrowed" a friends Mosquito that he says did the same thing to him and he just suffered through the first 1,000 rounds until it was broke in and it shoots fine now. Like I said before I do not know what Sig did to my gun, but my friends Mosquito has a D/A trigger pull of 4.75 lbs. and S/A trigger pull of 3.25 lbs. and as I stated earlier mine is now D/A 3.5, S/A 2. He likes mine better So all in all, the boat anchor stays for awhile for plinking. I REALLY do like my new Bersa Stainless Compact Pro 9mm though. Heft is perfect, conceals perfectly, and is as accurate as any of my Sig's up to 40 yds. After that the Sig P220 definitely takes over.
