This is part 5 of my attempt to build an integral suppressor on a Mauser VZ-24.


Ok here we go again. The G.F. left town last weekend with her daughter and I had some time to sneak out to the workshop. Didn't get a whole lot done but here it is.

Next step was to mount the barrel to the receiver. Real easy to do if you don't have a tourq wrench for the job. Just hand tighten the two and the tighten another 1/8th inch. Doesn't sound like a lot but it really tightens up quick!!



And done



Now with the barrel on I could locate the set screw for the tube cap that goes over the chamber end of the barrel. Just a quick check to insure that I'm not about to set this down on top of the inner threads. . .


I've got plenty of room here. So on to placing the set screw. I'll spare the photos of the process as I think I showed it in more detail in a previous post. Here is a pic of some of the stuff. I'm using a #10 X 32 set screw as I did with the tube support. (seen in photo)



Ok, now with that done it was time to chuck up the entire tube assemble into the lathe for some finishing cuts to take out all the scuff marks (you can see in previous pictures that the end caps really got marked up during the build process) and make it all look good.
