Hey M-1 Shooters, welcome to Bunker Hill Armory. I service USGI service rifles of all types, but my personal specialty is the M-1 Garand. If you have any questions regarding these rifles, please feel free to ask!
I can provide complete M-1 Rifle servicing and restoration. I consider myself an ARMORER, and my focus is on returning these rifles to TOP condition the way John Garand and Springfield Armory intended. I'm not a neurotic "collector" type and don't worship every ding and gouge in the stock. However, I do appreciate a good "veteran" rifle and won't perform sacreligous acts either. I'm a member of the Garand Collector's Association and a CMP customer and program supporter.
Heres a pic of one of my recent restorations. Boy, can this ol' girl shoot!
So...let's see some pictures of YOUR USGI service rifles and we'll get the ball rolling!
Warmest regards,
Glenn Hill

Good to see you here Glenn! I can vouch for Glenn's expertise too. I have shot that M1 and it is SWEET!! Glenn has an attention to detail that borders on being demented! Whatever you do though, do NOT mention any of these new fangled epoxy finishes around Glenn!! His head starts to rotate and steam comes out his ears...

David,
Thanks a bunch! I really do appreciate it. This is definitely a labor of love. It never grows old, and you're right...I feel it's important that these Service Rifles be kept maintained and running the way they were intended. New shooters are so amazed when they see these ol' warhorses at the range. Frankly, they still amaze me too.
To me M-1's are not just "a gun". They are tangible examples of American engineering, craftsmanship, design genius, courage, and determination. They are artifacts from a time when America made the VERY BEST, and would accept nothing less for it's soldiers.
Frankly, it's my honor to work on them, and I try to keep that in mind...even during the inevitable "bumps in the road" that come up from time to time.

Here's another recent pic...this one of me shooting the above rifle during a trip to Maine earlier this month to visit family. This was an informal shoot (uhhh...VERY informal...like busting rocks 'n stuff! ), but it was a great time. In fact, it was one of the few relaxing times on the whole **** trip!
Hey...who's that dude in the glasses behind me?

The friday after that I spent an hour sweeping up all the brass on the cement that was left from people before us. Kind of embarrassing to bring friends to that mess! Sorry about that. I brought it up at the next meeting too, as it sucks walking on brass! We did have fun though, especially shooting your funny drawing out at 100yds!

Chris,
If you want to fix anything at your range, get rid of those **** horseflies! It's tough to get a good trigger squeeze when some insect is taking a freakin' divot out of your skin!
That was really a fun shoot. I haven't just shot for fun like that in a long time. All this CMP Highpower shooting can make you too **** serious about going to the range.
