I discovered this site by accident while searching for a local FFL who would accept a transfer from another state. Jeff was most pleasant to talk with on the phone and after spending a few minutes on this site one thing is clear. There are still many of us who have great interest in the preservation of firearms history and the enjoyment of sharing it with good friends and family. My home is also in the Dallas Fort Worth area of Texas where I work as a mechanic on helicopter transmissions.

Welcome to the site. You hit the nail on the head. We don't normally discuss "high speed, low drag" shoot them up stuff around here. Not that we can't, it just isn't big topic for our current members and there are plenty of sites out there for that anyway. We like to talk about history, how guns have influenced us and our families and preserving the true meaning of the 2nd Amendment. It's pretty laid back. I hope you enjoy it. Some of our members our customers, some are not. Feel free to post about whatever you feel like, and if you need a new category created to better capture a subject, Jeff and I have been known to create them for the members. We're are pretty flexible.
Again, welcome.

KeepmflyinTX,
Welcome This is a great group, a small group but a great one all the same. There is a lot of experience here firearms related and other. The guys at "Live to Shoot" Tim and Jeff are the best! I can speak from my personal experience buying several firearms from them. My most recent purchase is a CZ 40B (can't wait to get it guys ). These guys believe in treating there customers like friends and they have gotten all of my business ever since I found them.
You have come to the right place.

Thanks to all of you for putting out the welcome mat. Dan, we are still doing helos but our assembly has been moved. We will be doing the ARH (Armed Reconaissance Helicopter) in the Dallas Fort Worth area. Basically, it is a model 407 (similar to a 4 bladed Jet Ranger) on steroids. Commercial helicopters are all built in Canada. I remember a small group of people who were interested in a particular weapon call the FAL. The site is now called the FAL files and there are chapters and meets all over the United States.

KFT,
It was good to talk to you. Sorry you had to call North Carolina to reach Jeff in Texas. We're still working the bugs out of our communication options. Jeff and I both come from a fair amount of small aircraft flying. Jeff was getting close to having his license when he was just 16 or 17. Helicopters have always been a favorite of mine. As I stated on the phone, this site is for our members. As a rule, we are about recreational and competition shooting, but we discuss just about everything under the sun. We don't have any "tactical" members that I know of. There are plenty of sites out there for shooters to discuss body armor, kickin in doors, and all of that high speed low drag shooting that has become so popular in movies, TV and video games. But, to be clear to everyone who reads this, we won't try to stop you from discussing it here should the urge strike you. So far, we haven't had to censor a single post for language or content. We believe in the Bill of Rights and remain open to our members opinions. My only hope is to get more of the members involved in the discussions.
If you want to start threads about flying or other non gun stuff, please do so without hesitation. If you have questions about guns that you might be buying from someone else, just ask. We'll be glad to tell you if you are getting a good deal or not. We don't expect our customers to buy every gun from us. Selling guns and gear is just part of what we are trying to build here.
Welcome to the group, and I hope you have some friends to bring over.
