Just finished putting a plain old oil finish on my custom laminate stock for the Mauser project. I tried something different called Lin-Speed oil. It is a more refined Lin-Seed oil that actually drys completely. Hand rub two coats on then use 000 steel wool to rub on the last coat. (allowing drying time between coats of course). Here are some low ris pics of the complete rifle. Sorry, I'm currently limited to just a camra phone at the time. |

I like it, looks really good. My father has always used different types of lin-seed oil finishes. Some good some bad I'll have to tell him about this product and see what he thinks. What caliber is your mauser 8mm or somthing different? |

What caliber is your mauser 8mm or somthing different? I re-barreled it in .308. In the Gunsmith Forum I have posted a series of my Mauser project. Kinda cool. Please check it out and ask any questions that come to mind. |

What kind of scope do you have on there? How much does this entire setup weigh? It looks like you have taken your lathe skills and put them to good use. She really looks good. |

The scope is a Gen 2+ nightvision job from ATN. Its called the Crusader 6900. It has 5 power magnification with a rangfinding recticle. Here is a link for more info on it. http://www.atncorp.com/NightVision/Nigh ... 00Crusader Don't know the weight yet but it IS heavy. On hindsight it probably would have weighed less had I made it from Stainless Still. It's just a lot easier to work with aluminum. And Thank you for the complement. Have you checked out the series on building it? |

Sweet build! I love the wildcat stock. That design is cool. |
